JUNKERS J.1

The Junkers was my first ever WNW build and an early  sample was sent to me many months in advance of  its release-I had a hard job keeping it a closely-guarded secret for so long! It is still one of my favourite models and has only a  few mods;I still need  to correct the aileron gaps with some embossed foil inserts. The test-shot   figures  add much to the appeal of the ‘Tin Donkey’ for diorama purposes. It’s a big model and I left the four wing panels un-glued for space reasons; they are a good plug fit…

LVG C.VI

My fourth LVG, having built  scratchbuilt models of this aircraft in 1:72,1:48,and 1:24 over the years. Wingnut’s was by far the easiest to build of the lot! The model was braced  with rolled fusewire which is now looking a little tired and re-wiring  is a likely prospect…

ALBATROS D.VA

This D.VA was reviewed in WS 26/1 and was very much a ‘quick build’ with cockpit and engine ‘obscured’ with scale tarps made from painted tissue. It is finished in the markings of Hunoldstein’s Jasta 14 mount, one of five options in the kit. Since it’s release in 2010, plenty of optional Albatros markings have become available from WNW and Pheon with many more to come…

ALBATROS D.V

This is my first WNW Albatros build and is mostly stock with some added engine details and a few minor mods. It requires turnbuckles and a new windscreen to bring it into line with my latest German fighters. This kit was reviewed in WS 26/1, an issue that sold out fairly quickly.
